Question:
If I work for the state, does that mean I don't have to work on state holidays?

I work for the State of Massachusetts and tomorrow is Patriot's Day, which is listed as a state holiday. I work for the State Health Department so I'm assuming I don't have to work? One person told me that we weren't open tomorrow, so I'm assuming that she was right, but I just found it bizarre that no one else said anything and I didn't get an email or anything.

That is a great perk of state jobs. There is a holiday in almost every month. April has Patriot's day. I hope you were home for that.

Hope you didn't show up for work. If you work for our Commonwealth, it's a paid holiday! =) Enjoy.
